Earlier today, Apple held a press conference regarding the issues around the iPhone 4 – namely the antenna issues. The Engadget coverage can be found on their website.
The good news is, Apple will be giving away free bumpers to help solve the issue with losing signal and dropping calls. Jobs also identified that the iPhone 4 is not the only Smartphone to have similar issues depending on how you hold it. More information regarding the antenna issues can be found at www.apple.com/antenna.
Throughout this press conference there were some numbers which were talked about and I would personally like to call them “wooo’ing” numbers. For example, “3,000,000″ iPhone 4 units have already been sold. Another was that only 0.55% of all iPhone 4 users have complained about antenna or reception issues.
After these “woo’ing” numbers were displayed, I started to think of what was the actual number of users who have complained. Assuming, the 3 million units sold went to 3 million different people – that would mean 16,500 people have complained. Now, that is a very small number – but still enough to say “Hey! There must be a problem here.”
Steve please stop trying to “woo” me and please share the information on which you got this number of 0.55%. The reason I am asking is simply because others seem not to and I do not trust you. That and the fact that I am curious on exactly how accurate these numbers are.
All I am interested in is the numbers; that is all.
