Geek Dinner… What the heck is that? Well, Geek Dinner is the gathering of the local creatives, developers, bloggers, podcasters, new media enthusiasts, etc. from the local area, Kitchener and as far as Toronto here in London Ontario. The meet up is open who anyone who lives in the world of Internets and the group is very quite diverse.

Geek Dinner

I was lucky to attend my first Geek Dinner meet up on Wednesday April 7th and overall it was excellent night! This meet up was particularly special though as there were a few new gadgets and toys to play with such as the iPad and the Nexus One (thanks to those who brought there new toys for others to play with). Throughout the evening I was able to connect with people who I have only virtually met via Twitter such as Gavin from rTraction. With the various individuals who I met and chatted with, I was able to discuss business opportunities here in London, learn about what others are doing and where I can help out and up coming opportunities within the City of London. The best part of the evening I will have to say is being able to have a nice cold beer and talk with others using technical and new media terms with like minded individuals.

I recommend attending this meet up for anyone who is a creative, developer, blogger, podcaster, new media enthusiast, journalist, and even the the wanna be geeks as you will learn a heck of a lot, meet new people, share a common interest and possibly open doors for yourself. I would also like to thank all who were there that I had a chance to talk to (sorry to those I didn’t, maybe next time) and especially Bill Deys, Titus Ferguson and the rest of the organizers.

Until next time, Godspeed to all Geeks.
